Sandry Antimold is packed for use in food package. It maintains quality of food product by controlling the gas environment inside food packaging. Sandry Antimold emits ethanol gas inside food packages and thus inhibits the growth of fungus, therefore it is categorized as active packaging. The film of the packet functions as a control for the transpiration rate of ethanol as needed.
The effect of Sandry Antimold against fungus is “bacteriostatic” meaning inhibiting the growth of fungus. In typical usage, the ethanol concentration in the food product becomes as low as 2%or less so there is no “sterilization” effect to kill any fungi. Ethanol has a high bacteriostatic effect against mold within the fungi family. Therefore, Sandry Antimold is an excellent usage as a preservative for food products which have a high risk occurring molds during storage.
